SARANAC LAKE - Carolyn E. Blair, 87, of 27 Jenkins St., died Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the General Hospital of Saranac Lake.
She was born Dec. 8, 1897, in Saranac Lake, the daughter of Charles and Harriet (Whitman) Martin. She had been a lifelong resident of the village and had been employed by Meyer's Drug Store in the 1960's.
Her husband, Thomas A. Blair, died in 1961.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Carol Meade of Saranac Lake; a son, George "Mickey" Blair, of Lake Placid; a brother, Harold Martin of Santa Rosa, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
Calling hours and the funeral will be private at the Fortune Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Chatterton officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Saranac Lake.
Memorial donations may be made to the Saranac Lake Rescue Squad in care of the funeral home.
