Henry Pedroni, 81 Dies At Gabriels
Henry Pedroni of 246 Broadway, died at 12:30 today in St. Margaret's Nursing Home at Gabriels Sanatorium.
Mr. Pedroni, who was 81 last July, has been a resident of Saranac Lake for over 40 years. He was a retired jeweler, and was very well-known in this area.
His wife, Giustina, survives, and there is one son, John J., of 246 Broadway.
The body is reposing at the Fortune Funeral Home, but funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.

My father, Abraham Heller, worked there from 1948 to 1951. He always referred to Henry Pedroni as "the old man." My father had his own watch repair business on New Scotland Avenue in Albany from 1959 to 1994 and from time to time he'd show me something about fixing a watch and say, "This is how the old man did it." It was his first job after graduating from watchmaker's school in Pittsburgh, which he attended on the GI Bill. He met my mother, Phyllis (Roth) Heller in Pittsburgh, they got married in Jan. 1948 and moved to Saranac Lake shortly after. She worked for Irving Krinovitz, the insurance agent.
In the early 60's, when I was 6 or 7, we took a couple of summer vacations in Saranac Lake and stayed at the Ampersand Bay Boat Club, owned by Walt Emmons, who my father knew from when they lived there. The first year we stayed in a room over the boathouse, and the following summer in a cottage. My father took me to the jewelry shop, where we met Bob LaRock, who my father remembered from when he worked there.
