Mrs. Mary Peightal

SARANAC LAKE — Mary E. Peightal, 83, of 20 Church Street, died Friday, Dec. 22, 1989, at the general hospital here.

She was born Feb. 1, 1906 in Phillipsburg, Pa., the daughter of John and Nancy (Hayes) Maddox.

She married Walter R. Peightal Aug. 17, 1925.

She lived in the village for more than 50 years. She was a member the First United Methodist Church, a member of the Live Wires, a member of the choir and had taught Sunday school at the church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her husband; three grandchildren, Kathy Parker of Monterey, Calif., Mrs. Michael (Ann) Dupree and Mary Sue Peightal, both of Saranac Lake; a daughter-in-law, Kathryn Peightal, of Saranac Lake; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A son, Jack, died in 1989.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral service was scheduled for 11 a.m. today at the First United Methodist Church, the Rev. Robert Lowenthal, pastor, officiating. Cremation will follow in Ellenburg, with burial in May in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
