Thomas Anthony Daley played football for the Saranac Lake High School Red and White. A mimeographed SPORT SUPPLEMENT (football) apparently from 1927 — also marked BEAT MALONE — describes Tom Daley, End: "Tom after sowing his teeth on the football field for the past three years has at last reached his aim by playing end in the latter games of the year. He was groomed as a backfield prospect but his fighting spirit could not be overlooked, and so, his place on the first team. He will not be in uniform next season," (presumably because he was graduating).
A handwritten note adds: "1927 Football team won Adirondack Championship. Lost to Malone 18 Saranac 7 (by Kunz)." 1
